ISETAN is one of the most famous department stores in Japan. They’re based in Shinjyuku, Tokyo, but there’s also one in Shizuoka, too! They always carry something in fashion, and often interesting evens are held by them time to time. I think one of the best parts of visiting department stores in Japan is “Depachika”. Usually, the basement floor of those department stores are food markets, that’s what it is. They have grocery store area and deli food area. The deli part is really famous. Their foods are “a bit” high in price if you compare to other deli places. But department stores are most of the time classified as luxury. So it’s sure worth what you pay for. About twenty year ago, those department stores used to be major places and probably was only the places where people go shopping. Now we have more choices like GMS stores. But they are still differentiate themselves from those general stores.
