Chashu roast pork

NIKU NO FUKUDA (Chashu roast pork)

Have you ever tried Japanese roast pork called “Chashu”? It’s used as one of the toppings of Ramen sometimes. But this Chashu is not for topping, this is the main dish as it is.

Nikuno Fukuda, the butcher, in Shimizu ward, is famous for their original “Chashu”. People come from far to buy it. Since they are a butcher, the quality of the meat is of course great! They roast pork at their store. And those roast pork are hung in the show case. So they are freshly roasted at the store. It’s better to eat it within a day cuz that’s the best timing. Their Chashu is very tender and really good! They come with the special sauce, which is kinda sweet but very savory and flavorful. It goes good with some beer and also with some white rice!

If you want, they can slice it for you. or you can buy a chunk. They also have some in vacuum packs in case you want them to last longer.

As I said, they are a butcher, so they also have some meat products like Gyoza, Shumai, hamburgs and so on.

They are located at the entrance of “Jirocho street”, which is one of the historical place in Shimizu area. So it’s easy to find them.
